INDUCTION
In the past there has not been a formal induction ceremony for anyone joining 41 Club but clubs are now being encouraged to welcome and induct new members in these words which are almost identical to your induction into Round Table.
“As a former (or ‘current’ if dual member) member of (insert name of Round Table Club) you are now to be accepted as a member of (insert name of 41 Club) which is part of The Association of Ex-Tablers’ Clubs.
Your acceptance of membership implies that you will carry into your public and private life the continuation and extension of the development of acquaintance gained through membership of the Round Table movement.
1. The encouragement of responsible citizenship in observing the highest ideals in business, professional and civic traditions.
2. The promotion and furtherance of international understanding, friendship and co-operation.
3. To seek to support the activities of constituent clubs and local Round Tables in serving the community.
In the name of (insert name of club) 41 Club, I welcome you (insert name) most sincerely into the fellowship of our Association and the presentation of this badge is a symbol of your connection with a world – wide Association of thousands of like minded men.
Wear this badge at all times, and remember as you wear it that you carry the good repute of 41 Club in all your affairs, for the Association is judged by those who recognise you as a member”.
“Fellow members of (insert name of club) 41 Club, please be upstanding;
I commend to you (insert name) and ask you to drink a toast to him. I would remind you that the obligations he has today assumed towards you and his fellow men are obligations of which you should be equally mindful”.
We not only believe that it is right to formally welcome new members but by adopting a formal induction in this way we wish to emphasise the close links between the two organisations as well as reminding long standing existing members of the club just what 41 Club is all about!
ASSOCIATION GRACE
“Lord, as we enjoy this food and fellowship, may we be ever mindful of those less fortunate, Amen”
