MANGER, Hans.

With deep regret we receive the news that our dear Old Table friend Hans Manger died in the night of 24th August. He was 88 years old. He follows his dear wife Fritzi who died only six months ago.

Hans and Fritzi MangerHans Manger was a true and loyal Tabler and Old Tabler from the very first years from Round Table and Old Tablers Deutschland. He was the founder member of OT 3 Wilhelmshaven and with his club joint founder of Old Tablers Deutschland. 1972/73 he followed Einhart Melzer as the second national President from OTD.

He made International friendship his priority between the French and the British 41 Clubs and paid the same attention to his immediate neighbours the Dutch Winschoten.

In 1994 he was presented with the Honorary Membership of Old Tablers Deutschland.

During the last 10 years he had great pleasure as member of OT 167 Jever, the club in the town where he had spent his early school years.

All of us from  OT 3 and OT 36 Wilhelmshaven and also OT 167 Jever are in deep mourning for our departed Hans, but full of pride, that we lived such a special friendship in our Association with him.

Dear Hans — Rest in peace!

Herbert Kaiser
OTD-Archivar/Präsident OT 167

LITTLEJOHN, Charles.

Charles Littlejohn - South Africa - The photo was taken in Mauritius at the HYM in September. Desny, his wife, is on the left and Charles is the one with the ‘QUIET’ shirt.Fellow 41ers,

It is with great sadness that I have to inform you that Charles Littlejohn  passed away last night after suffering a heart attack.

Charles was on holiday in the Berg with Desny.
He is survived by his wife Desny and his two sons, Ross & Barry.

Charles was a very active member of the Durban Highway 41ers Club and was the current National Secretary.

Desny has a Facebook  page "desnylittlejohn" and I am sure that this would be an appropriate way to communicate with her.
Her email address is littlejohns@mweb.co.za

KRIEL, Barry.

Dear 41er friends,

It is with extreme sadness that I have to inform you all of the passing of Barry Kriel earlier today (11.08.08).
Barry will not only be remembered as a former President of our 41er Club in South Africa, but also as a true friend to all with whom he had contact.
The smell of his pipe, his genuine smile and his warm heart will be missed by all in South Africa and his many friends abroad.

Our condolences to his wife Louine and son Jean.

41er greetings
Dave Oracki
President
41er Clubs of South Africa

STROUD, Eric.

It is with regret that Johannesburg 41 Club South Africa announces the death of Eric Stroud on 9 May 2007 after a long illness.

Eric was the Johannesburg 41 Club Chairman in 1977/8 and 1980/1.

He was the South African 41 Club National President in 1989/90

Eric served on 41 Club International Executive Council for many years as International Liaison Officer and was the first ever recipient of the International Merit Award presented to him in 1995. He was present and honoured at his last international AGM in Durban South Africa in 2005. Eric will be remembered as a passionate 41er and was a man who remained positive to the end.

Eric is survived by his wife Sue, two children and four grandchildren. Our thoughts extend to his family at this time.

Regards

Philip Bragg
