The 22nd Reunion of Past Presidents of the Association hosted by Alan and Frances Reynolds took place at the Hotel Baia Grande, Albufeira, Portugal between the 10th and 13th May 2007; albeit that some took the opportunity to stay for a full week or even longer.
From a total of only 23 living qualifiers, 12 gathered together with ladies to enjoy some gloriously sunny weather and friendly Western European hospitality.
A varied programme of events ensured that all participants had an enjoyable visit with time to sample a good selection of local cuisine.
Whether it was chicken piri-piri near the top of a mountain, cataplana in a local restaurant or sardines on a secluded beach, there was always a plentiful selection of regional wines to complement the food.
The highlight of the weekend was the all day boat trip along the Atlantic coastline with lunch on a beach. A little help from their friends was all that the septuagenarian and octogenarian members needed to enthusiastically make the transition by ladder between the yacht and the dinghy which would transfer them to and from the shore.
The only item of serious business to discuss? When to meet again and where! Watch this space.
