Help for Heroes – A Joint Effort
See just who is supporting H4H!
The Rotary Club of Yeo Vale, supported by members of The Yeovil 41 Club and The Rotary Club of Yeovil, recently held a charity evening for “Help for Heroes”. This is the National Charity supporting and rehabilitating wounded military personnel returning from the battlefront in Afghanistan. “ Help for Heroes” is also the nationwide 2009 charity chosen by 41 Clubs in the UK.
The evening started with a moving DVD of the staff at Headley Court helping personnel rebuild their lives after the loss of limbs. This was followed by a graphic account of operations and life in Helmond Province as seen through the eyes of The Royal Marine helicopter support squadrons from RNAS Yeovilton. The evening concluded with a raffle of prizes provided by Yeo Vale Rotary and the proprietors of The Crown and Victoria in Tintinhull, where the Club meets. The raffle raised an extraordinary £400 for Help for Heroes.

The photograph shows the presentation of this £400 cheque by Roger Crouch, President of Yeo Vale Rotary Club to Richard Matthews, The National President of 41 Clubs UK. Also in the picture is Captain Barney Barnwell, Royal Marine, from RNAS Yeovilton and Ian Prestwood, Chairman of Yeovil 41 Club
