What a raise!
WInchester 41er and businessman, Robert Loughridge, a partner at Dutton Gregory Solicitors, has raised over £1000.00 in support of the charity Help for Heroes.
Just before midnight on Wednesday 2nd September, Rob, a member of Winchester 41 Club, was “raised” onto the 4th plinth in Trafalgar Square as part of sculptor Antony Gormley's "One & Other" art project.
Rob and his team of supporters travelled to London to raise awareness and money for Help 4 Heroes, the charity dedicated to those maimed and injured in the armed forces.
Bob read dedications he had received via e-mail in exchange for donations made to his dedicated Just Giving site. Read more and donate here: www.justgiving.com/plinth4heroes
The messages came in from all over the world. The UK, America, Germany and the wives of soldiers serving in Afghanistan left messages for their husbands for Rob to pass on over the live webcast.
Rob said “I was particularly moved by some of the messages and realised whilst I was on the plinth just how much this charity means to an awful lot of people. I am so glad that we were able to help in some small way.”
