AGM Report

Old lags

We royally welcomed Rich Jones, Chairman of Alcester and Stratford District Round Table 746, and duly appointed him an Honorary Member of Alcester 41 Club. Also the venerable Philip Tanner, who has rejoined us from France after an absence of some five years. It is certain we will do almost anything to boost subscription income. Even more, fervent hopes that we may be able to welcome at a future meeting, the no-doubt unsuspecting, Dave Pigott of 746 who has recently retired from Table under the age rule.

The various officers’ reports were approved as were the accounts for 2019/20 and 2020/21, together with the budget and subs for 2021/22. An amended Treasurer's Report for 2020/21 has been circulated to eagle-eyed members.

In his absence (shame) Chairman Nigel Peace was re-elected Chairman for the coming year. Serves him right. The evergreen Brett Pillinger fought off stiff opposition to grasp the Vice Chairmanship. Other appointments approved for rolled over from last year: Bill Goodall as Treasurer; John Brookes as Secretary; Graham Roden, Accounts Examiner and Martin Parry, Web Master.

Under AOB, following a report from Rhys Williams on the severe damage done by fire to the Three Tuns, best wishes are to be passed on by Rhys to the landlord and landlady. John Evans was particularly concerned about the fate of his cartoons from behind the bar….
Martin Parry asked us to note in our diaries a walk he would be doing along the Arden Way the weekend of 21/22 September 2021 to raise funds for the Shakespeare Hospice.

Following general discussion we agreed a date of Thursday 27th May at 6pm for an outside meeting, possibly at the Fish at Wixford. Assuming Step 3 of the “Roadmap out of Lockdown” goes ahead, after 17th May we are allowed to have a gathering outside of up to 30 members.
