The Annual Region 25 Golf competition
30 Members and guests took part in the annual Region 25 Golf competition held on Monday 7th September at West Malling Golf Course in Kent. Clubs represented were Ash & District, Bromley, Farnborough, Gravesend, Margate, Ramsgate and Welling. The winning team with 90 points was Margate 41 Club. National President, Richard, presented the winners the Region 25 golf trophy and each team member received an engraved glass. Other awards were presented to :- Bob Watts (Gravesend 41 Club) for best individual score Peter Rodd (Margate 41 Club) for longest drive Keith Elliott (Margate 41 Club) for nearest the pin At the post match dinner, organiser, National Councillor, Dave Campbell presented the National President with a cheque for £280  towards his chosen charity “ Help for Heroes”  He also presented Past National Councillor, Peter Warr,  a donation of £100 towards his ongoing work in Tanzania. The National President responded by presenting Dave Campbell an engraved glass and his personal banner as an expression of thanks for his continued work for the organisation. To date, Region 25 members have donated over £500 to Help for Heroes.

Scottish Golf
Forfar were the winners of the Scottish Golf and the grey haired guy Ron Leslie also of Forfar was the individual winner and the guy in the blue shirt Robin Tyler was runner up.

Eastern Region Charity Golf Day 2009

The 7th ERCGD held at Channels Golf Club Chelmsford attracted a record field of 84 players from 19 Clubs from regions 17, 18, & 19. Golfers experienced somewhat difficult conditions with storms threatening to stop play throughout the day.  £1000.00 was raised for the winning three teams nominated charities. Richard Matthews National President presented the prizes at the dinner.

1st £500.00 & Team Trophy - Great Yarmouth - Cancer Research Relay for Life

2nd £300.00 - Southgate - Cherry Lodge Cancer Care

Joint 3rd £100.00 - Colneside Retreads - Clic Sargent Cancer Fund and £100.00 - Hutton & Shenfield -Little Haven Hospice

The individual Competition Trophy was won by Nick Godfrey, Hutton & Shenfield with a total of 43pts. 2nd was Laurie Carpenter, Sunbury with 40pts on count back and 3rd was Keith Oliver, Southend-on-sea with 40pts.
