Once again members of Abingdon & District 41 Club and their partners, joined the Kingston Bagpuize Bowls Club for a excellent evening of tuition and fellowship. The start of the evening was curtailed by a huge thunder storm, but once that had cleared everyone got down to the buisness of bowling. An excelent buffet was provide by the Bowls Club and prizes were presented to the winning team by Chairman - Keith Butler. Once again an excellent evening organised by our 'Sports Supremo' - Chris Allen! The winning team consisted of Gillian Holcombe, Peter Benson, John Goss and Jenny Kilpatrick. Pictures below:
Chairman Keith recently organised an evening of group walks around the town, with members spotting landmarks using in walks leaflets supplied by the Friends of Abingdon. The picture shows the team who claim to have won, the only problem being that no-one else, including the organiser, thought that it was a competition! The club then retired to a local curry house for the rest of the evening
Members of Abingdon & District 41 Club visited the Bodleian Library in Oxford for a tour. The library is the main research library of the University and is one of the oldest libraries in Europe with over 13million printed items. After the visit the guys retired to the Kings Arms for refreshment.
