February's meeting (recap): 27-02-2016 Club news: Guisborough

February meeting: On Wednesday 24th February we attended Saltburn 41 Club’s 50th Anniversary Dinner at The Ship Inn, Marske. There was a good attendance. As well as the National President Terry Cooper, and our own club, Saltburn were joined by members of Redcar, Yarm and Whitby, with there being about 45 all together. The raffle raised just over £200 for Terry’s charity Stroke Association, and was topped up with individual donations of £100 from Redcar and ourselves. A great night of fellowship which was unfortunately let down by the host venue (it was Grill Night, but they had no sirloin steak, no rump steak and no salmon (which left gammon) and incredibly took 2-hours to serve 2-courses to us all). However, it was good to support our neighbours and meet up with members of some other clubs.
